Year 3 was given a brief to create sequential images from sound. They were given an experimental sound piece that lasted 180 seconds composed by director David Lynch and asked to create sequential images in any way they would want to. Students used a variety of techniques, utilising hand drawn animation to stop motion to 2d animation, 3-d animation, experimental mixed techniques of drawing photography and light. Student had to develop storyboards and mood boards, that created during the production and post production process.

This was a different project in terms of sound and image that was not intended to be a music video but translate sound into audio-visual work.

Project “Synchronised” was a follow up from the successful Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) competition.

They were projected all together in synchronisation, hence the name of the project. Different images animated by the same sound.
