Overlay Hagia Sofia is an installation proposal for the 3rd Istanbul Design Biennial as a response to ‘our species is completely suspended in endless layers of design’ proposition. This proposal deals with how the layers of Hagia Sofia’s interior architectural elements have been overlaid during different periods of command and how these layers of design effect the interior space experience through its usage/programme, circulation, spatial design and visual understanding.
